Secrets of the High Stakes ‘Hunger Games’
February 3rd, 2012
From budgets and salaries, to the accident that sent star Jennifer Lawrence to the hospital, the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter features director Gary Ross and never-revealed details about the fast-approaching pop culture phenomenon, in theaters March 23.
The first of four films of Suzanne Collins’ massively popular three-book series The Hunger Games, about two dozen children randomly chosen to compete for survival, opens March 23 on more than 4,000 screens across the country (as with Twilight and Harry Potter, the final book will be split into two films). The film’s reception could determine whether its stars — Jennifer Lawrence, 21; Josh Hutcherson, 19; and Liam Hemsworth, 22 — ascend to Kristen Stewart-Robert Pattinson-Taylor Lautner superstardom and fill the gap opening as Twilight heads toward its final chapter.

‘Red Dawn’ Remake Will Blow Up ‘All Of Downtown Detroit,’ Star Josh Hutcherson Says
November 5th, 2009Some people remember “Red Dawn” as an Eighties classic powered by Cold War paranoia. Others think back to recent events and recall that it was one of the greatest films in the career of recently-deceased Patrick Swayze. Still others may remember it as the first movie to ever be released with a PG-13 rating.
The truth is, it’s all of the above. And now, it’s also a remake.
“I’m working on ‘Red Dawn’ right now, up in Michigan,” explained “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” star Josh Hutcherson when we caught up with him recently. “It’s going great. We blew up all of downtown Detroit last week. It was pretty epic.”
Josh Hutcherson Vs. “The Vampire’s Assistant”
October 19th, 2009Just turned 17-year-old cutie Josh Hutcherson impressed us as a kid actor in tons of movies; The Bridge to Terabithia, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D, Zathura and more. Affable, friendly Josh usually plays “the good guy” in films but he is stoked to portray “baddie” Steve in the new fantasy vampire film Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant based upon the book series. In our exclusive interview, Josh spilled that he and co-star Chris Massoglia, who plays Darren, friends turned enemies in the movie, played basketball and backstage pranks together and basically had a blast shooting in a creepy graveyard and old movie theater in New Orleans.
