Joseph Kahn’s “Detention” starring Josh Hutcherson will premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin Texas in March.
This film is second feature film by Joseph Kahn, perhaps best known for helming Britney Spears’ “Toxic” video and 2004’s “Torque.” That’s quite a resumé. Anyway, the film features the unlikely pairing of Josh Hutcherson (”The Kids Are All Right”) and Dane Cook (huh?) in the film about a downtrodden 17-year-old girl who is sent to detention where she must survive a slasher film killer and save the world in time for prom. OK, then. Shanley Caswell, Spencer Locke and Aaron David Johnson also star.
The Kids Are All Right Got nominated for:
Best motion picture of the year
Performance by an actor in a supporting role
Performance by an actress in a leading role

Some people remember “Red Dawn” as an Eighties classic powered by Cold War paranoia. Others think back to recent events and recall that it was one of the greatest films in the career of recently-deceased Patrick Swayze. Still others may remember it as the first movie to ever be released with a PG-13 rating.
The truth is, it’s all of the above. And now, it’s also a remake.
“I’m working on ‘Red Dawn’ right now, up in Michigan,” explained “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” star Josh Hutcherson when we caught up with him recently. “It’s going great. We blew up all of downtown Detroit last week. It was pretty epic.”
Just turned 17-year-old cutie Josh Hutcherson impressed us as a kid actor in tons of movies; The Bridge to Terabithia, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D, Zathura and more. Affable, friendly Josh usually plays “the good guy” in films but he is stoked to portray “baddie” Steve in the new fantasy vampire film Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant based upon the book series. In our exclusive interview, Josh spilled that he and co-star Chris Massoglia, who plays Darren, friends turned enemies in the movie, played basketball and backstage pranks together and basically had a blast shooting in a creepy graveyard and old movie theater in New Orleans.
